The statement made by Pat Robertson was and is stupid. I havent fumed over something in while like this. There needs to be a whole scale rebuke of Pat Robertson by Christians all over the world. Too often white men from the right have made statements similar to this and have not been fully challenged on the basis of their thinking which basically is a white supremacy mindset. It says to the world that, niggers couldnt beat white folks at nothing, so they had to go and get the devil's help to do so.
As a Christian I am disturbed and hope that he repents of his statement and belief because it is dangerous. Too many people who do not believe in God do not come to God because sometimes we in the body of Christ have a tendency to make heretical statemnents like this one. Pat Robertson has to know that this type of belief system promotes hate and division. But of course, like many white people unfortunately, they have this kind of thinking. Pat acts as if a 7.0 earthquake is God's wrath in motion. Hate to put to you this way Pat but you are sadly mistaken and intellectually challenged. Last time I checked Pat, judgment begins at the house of God. The body of Christ has an opportunity world wide along with all of humanity to show the Haitian people, they are loved, people are praying for them and we all will answer the call. The people of Haiti need help, period. Not your twisted thoughts about what you think God did or is doing. That is just silly and plain stupid.
Lastly. If no one on a large scale really addresses this especially here in America, well Pat you can look forward to a pending judgment to take place on these shores. Too often whites are too quiet and sarcastic in moments like this. This is not your drunk uncle talking out of the side of his neck. This is about a man who is largely respected in the Christian community making heretical statements about a nation who was used to bless America. See the Lousiana purchase. Dr Martin Luther King Jr. said that too often the silence of whites in the face of its own brutality toward people of color is the very thing that keeps people divided. Its not the henious acts of a few, but the silent majority who does and says nothing basically meaning that America is full of cowards. It takes a coward to make a hurtful statement about why hundreds of thousands of people are suffering and dying due to a pact with the devil. No Pat, you got it wrong, very wrong.
