Does God hate Satan or the Devil

#0, by pt109rick, 05 June 2010 07:21 AM

Do you believe that Satan hates God? I'm sure we've all heard that God is Love. If that is true then there cannot be any hate in God. If there is no hate in God then can God hate anything or anybody He created? If not, then does God hate Satan or the Devil and if God does not hate him then can we? I'm just asking since I could not find the word "like or dislike" as it pertains to feeling in this reference to God in my bible.

God is love, period. Now the word hate is subjective in nature. God tells us in the scriptures that he loved Jacob but he hated Esau. God is capable of hate but not in terms of an earthly perception. Hate simply means to love less. God hates sin. Thats a given. As far as Him hating Satan, God doesnt expressly say that He hates Satan. He was cast down because he wanted the worship God recieved. Its sin that separates man from God. God doesnt want us to be separated from us, therefore He gave us freewill to love Him or not. I could go deeper but it would take long and wind up being a full blown bible study. Maybe I will but not today. Suffice to say, God judged the wickedness in Lucifer and dealt with him accordingly. He doesnt need to hate Satan, but God does hate the works of the devil because it causes his creation, man to be separated from him.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown, but I wont put mine down until I see Him.

I don't think God is capable of such a thing, its not his nature (hate) is a human function or emotion. Hate:To have strong dislike or ill will for. Ya know If we went by this definition (webster) we could say God can hate, cause he/she strongly dislike us removed from him/her.

Hate is an English word and that is a problem right off the bat because English is a horrid language for expressing spiritual ideas. Just one example of this is [and we have all heard sermons about this] how English language bibles are hamstrung with using one English word, 'love', to refer to what Greek uses several words for [agape, eros, etc.].

Even worse, all languages change and morph over time to reflect the cultural biases of the time. This has led to numerous doctrinal errors being taught by holy men who insist that a literal translation of a physical bible from a centuries old culturally biased language represents the inerrant spiritual Word of God. Which is how it is possible that an American protestant could conclude God wants him to murder abortion doctors, while an Iranian muslim concludes God wants him to cut off the hands of thieves, while a Black Hebrew concludes God wants sistas to remain silent in church, while an IDF soldier concludes God wants him to storm the Mavi Marmara in the dead of night and kill unarmed peace activists.

God aka Christ aka the Word is beyond name and form and could never be adequately expressed or represented by any language because all languages are inescapably about name and form.

But, wait, men of this gross materialist age will protest. If my _physical_ bible is not the literal, inerrant, _spiritual_ Word of God, how, then, may we mere mortals ever know the Word? Well, with men, it is impossible. That is and was always the Plan. Jesus explained it this way:

John 14:25-26
[25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
[26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Which is to say that, yes, Jesus was/is the Word and he did/does speak the Truth. But, now that he has ascended back to the Father a Comforter, the Holy Spirit, is That which will lead us to all Truth. There is no contradiction, no blasphemy, no heresy, involved in stating this because Christ is the Word is the Father is the Holy Spirit is the One:

John 17:21-23
[21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
[22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
[23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Unfortunately, what is being commonly preached in the Apostate Church as the Holy Spirit has more to do with entertaining the flesh then realizing the I AM.
