Couple's 'Abort or Keep' Website: What do you think of them?
The Arnolds want you to decide whether they should have an abortion. And our first instinct is, if they want the fate of their baby to be decided by the general public, then they probably don't deserve this child.
According to Gawker, married couple Pete and Alisha Arnold, both 30, are the brainiacs behind Birthornot.com, where "you can vote and choose whether we abort or keep our unborn child."
Since September, the Minneapolis-area tech professionals have blogged about the pregnancy at birthornot.com, posting updates about the mother and the now 17-week-old boy along with ultrasound pictures and video.
But at the top of the blog is a poll hosted by PollDaddy.com, featuring the question: "Should We Give Birth or Have an Abortion?" The poll closes on December 7.
Pete told Gawker that he and Alisha will use the results to decide whether to keep the baby -- and they say it's not a prank or a publicity stunt.
"It's definitely not a pro-life campaign," she said. "I believe in a woman's right to choose."
The couple, who have been married for 10 years, say they've been unsure about whether they're ready to be parents. We'd say they're definitely not ready -- and if they do decide to keep the baby, maybe they should consider giving him to a far more appreciative set of parents.
